I recently put together a tribute to my in-laws on their 50th anniversary and all I had was a few still photos and the music from the 1940's.  The resulting video with narrations from friends and relatives is a tear jerker, especially since my father-in-law passed away shortly after the celebration.

It is my strong recommendation that you use the current technology, digital photographs and video, to record this day.  You will be so glad that you did.  Since you are here and still reading, let's assume that you have already made this decision and are just trying to decide how to spend your photography and videography budgets.

Let me say something about wedding budgets.  I often wonder how much thought goes into the budgeting?  I see weddings where a few thousands of dollars went into the flowers that will be thrown away shortly after the big day.  The cake will cost upwards or over a thousand dollars, and except for the top that will be frozen for a year (it's good-luck to eat from the wedding cake on the first anniversary.  It's worked for us so far and I've been married fifteen years).  And the wedding gown that costs a couple of thousand dollars and will likely never be worn again.  And a DJ or band that costs a few thousand dollars, but the music fades into the evening.   Where am I going with this?  These same weddings that had budgets in the tens of thousands of dollars put the Photography and Video at the end, cutting them first, when they would be creating the memories of the wedding that will be looked at ten, twenty, even fifty years later.  The bottom line (and it's always about the bottom line), don't plan a $20,000 wedding and only allocate $3000 to the photography and videography that will last forever.  Like the marriage.  Your memories deserve better.

Congratulations. Marriage is one of the biggest steps that you will take in your life.

You especially don't need anything to go wrong now.

I hope that I can help you decide what to do about having a wedding video produced to remember this day on your tenth, 25th or even your 50th wedding anniversary.
